The Lab Break Dance Academy is one of the first dance academy in the United States to specialize in Breakin’ (Breakdancing). Established in 2011 in Takoma, Washington D.C. The Lab has designed a dance program focused on teaching, developing and fostering the dance techniques and foundations of Breakin’. Our goal is to have students create and express their own personal style and see progress after each class session. The program is foundation based and will build upon the previous weeks concepts and lessons.

 

Each teacher at The Lab has over a decade of experience, and will use The Lab’s program to provide a fun, exciting, and educational class. In addition to The Lab’s Breakdance program, we also offer private lessons for students that want one on one instruction to rapidly advance their skills, or to prepare for performances. The Lab also offers Summer Camps, Day Camps, Birthday Parties, Workshops, Special events and Breakin Competitions for kids, teens and adults.

Since 2011, the Lab has grown into two locations, Washington, DC and Vienna, Virginia.

 

Our Washington, DC location is located blocks away from the Takoma Metro Red Line Station and in the heart of Takoma Park. Street parking is available and there are plenty of restaurants near by and a weekly outdoor market. The DC Location has two large dance studios and a lounge.

Our Vienna, VA location is in the heart of downtown Vienna, VA. This location is new and opened in January 2022. The VA location has a huge open space dance studio. Great to host events and other large workshops.
